Webshippy also offers cash on delivery for parcels sent to domestic and several foreign countries. We have gathered all the important information on how to settle the cash on delivery amounts collected in this way.

Domestic C.O.D. handling

In the case of your domestic parcels, the postage collected by the delivery company will be settled to Webshippy

  • For GLS and Sprinter, within 2-3 working days after the collection of the COD,

  • For Foxpost and Packeta, once a week, in the first half of the week following collection of the cash on delivery.

Webshippy will settle the amounts received on the next financial settlement day (first working day of the week) to its customers.

Cash on delivery is always settled in HUF for domestic parcels.

Expat handling abroad

For parcels sent abroad, cash on delivery is only available for certain countries (for a list of countries, see. Webshippy's shipping rates). Cash on delivery settlement differs from each delivery company.

Packeta

  • Cash on delivery is collected by the courier companies in the currency of the destination country, but is forwarded to Webshippy in HUF, except for the euro and the Romanian lei. We therefore invoice these amounts to our customers in HUF as part of the weekly financial settlement. The exchange rate will be the currency exchange rate at the time of payment.

  • Collections in euros and Romanian lei will be transferred to the forint bank account provided by the customer and recorded in our system or, after prior notification and agreement, to the foreign currency account provided by the customer. If you would like to receive the transfer of amounts collected in euros or Romanian lei in foreign currency, please indicate your request to us via the customer service ticket recorded in the Webshippy admin interface.

GLS

  • GLS transfers the possible cash on delivery amount of packages sent to Slovakia to Webshippy in EUR, which we transfer to the customer's account specified by them. There is a possibility too to request the transfer to a foreign currency account, so it will be credited in euros.

  • All other packages that are sent to other foreign countries GLS transfers the cash on delivery amounts to Webshippy in forints, so we can only transfer them to our customers in forints as well.

DHL

  • There is no cash on delivery possibility for parcels delivered by DHL.

The bank charges for amounts transferred to a HUF bank account in foreign currency are the responsibility of the receiving bank account holder.

Invoices issued by Webshippy may be offset against the amount of the subsequent payment only in the case of subsequent payments received by us in HUF.

Cash on delivery amounts received in foreign currency are transferred without compensation - in HUF or to the foreign currency account specified by the customer.
